I bought myself a toy for Christmas and it was only around five dollars. I love microscopic pictures. Here is a visual blogpost of some pictures I took with my new toy. Yes, you are going to think some of these look like little planets, due to the viewer being round. Here are my favorites:

This is my bathrobe with a cat whisker on it.

From a succulent plant I have.

This appears to say “AL” because this is close-up of a Hall’s cough drop wrapper.

This is a prong from a plug.

This is a portion of a dollar bill.

Doll fingers, folks. Gross. It’s a very old doll.

synthetic doll’s hair.

An eraser. The graphite here in specks isn’t so visible with the naked eye.

This is the side of a ring (a gold band.)

This here is my grandson’s toenail. Because.

Dust caught on a stick.

Pattern on a pewter cross necklace.

Rhinestones.

Key.

Mica.

A very old forgotten barrette from the back of the closet.

Christmas ball ornament.

Pencil.

This needed sharpening: a blunt pencil lead.

A tiny pink pill.

A puzzle piece.

Lines on a ruler.

Scab. I must say it’s a tiny thing with the naked eye, where a cat claw nicked the skin. I grabbed the hand moisturizer after this one!

This is the first micro-picture I took. It’s of a seashell, but I need to finetune the results.

That wrinkly place on the hand where the thumb meets the finger.

A samara (or whirlybird, helicopter seed) that our Maple tree drops, the ones that twirl to the ground.

Fingerprint.

The red string from a tree ornament.

Synthetic hair from a different doll.

From a succulent plant.

Stuffed elephant ‘fur.’

From the snakeskin I keep on my shelf.
Interestingly enough, I took twice as many photos as I’ve shared here, but I forgot what they were so I didn’t post those. More to follow. I plan to photograph food and dust at some point. That’s all for now!
Happy new year.
